Friends of Hillside Association
FOHA is a valuable asset not only to the school and the staff, but also to the children and parents as it gives us all a common cause to join forces for the good of the school. The committee and helpers are a valuable team, who donate their time and talents to support our school as much as possible. They have contributed greatly over the years, providing help, materials and equipment with the funds raised, items that the school budget may not otherwise have been able to provide.
Our main events includes three disco’s a year, Easter Bake, quiz’s and our biggest event of the year, our Grand Summer Fete, held within the school grounds.
In the past we have purchased laptops, ICT software and we often subsidise school trips. Our recent project was the redevelopment of the pond area which will be used throughout the year by all the children.
Over recent years we have contributed to the cost of the playground resurface, football kits, team treats, Science and pantomime shows, books for library, leavers books and smaller items for the classrooms as requested by the teachers. As a special treat at Christmas, we surprised all the children with a visit from Santa’s reindeer.
We have great support from our Head Teacher and staff and always welcome ideas and new parents. We run lots of events and fundraising throughout the year so we always need volunteers. We would love to welcome you to FOHA, so please feel free to join us at any time. FOHA cannot operate without new members to replace parents moving on to high school every year.
